I don't want this to sound like my CV. After B-CC I attended Emory in Atlanta. This was the first part of my southerly migration. It is also where I met my future wife....Janet Glenn from Highland Park, IL ( suburb of Chicago ) . Following Emory, I returned to Baltimore for my DDS degree at Univ. of MD. I married Janet and we lived in Columbia,MD during the last two years of dent school. My residency was in the frozen tundra of downtown Chicago. Actually , the urban living experience was great ( 4 month out of the year).

Time to go south again, in 1982 we moved to Tampa, Florida. I started a solo dental private practice. Our son was born in 1985 and is now 27, has a great job, lives in Chicago (doesn't mind the cold) , and is engaged .

In 2003 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. I sold my dental practice, but missed the work and patient contact. So, in 2007 Janet and I established Gulf Coast Dental Outreach, a Not-for-profit free dental clinic for low income adults without insurance . We manage the clinic and recruit the volunteer dentists and hygienists and staff the whole operation. We now have had over 90 dentists provide pro bono services. I practice dentistry vicariously through the stable and quiet hands of other dentists. I also received my executive management training at Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

As far as the Parkinson's goes....I'm dealing with it. Oh yea , I also beat renal cell CA.

I am now a "Half-Back". For those of you who are not Carolinians, it means we first live in the North, then spend part of the year in Florida (snow birds), then spend part of our time in the mountains of North Carolina.
