What started as a job shelving books at the Bethesda Library on Moorland Lane across from Bethesda Elementary became a lifelong career in libraries, both in special collections - National Archives (Nixon Presidential Materials Project) and the Library of Congress (Manuscript Division and the National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections) - and library administration - library building consultant, consultant at the NH State Library, public library director in Atkinson, NH, and Amesbury, MA, and now professional development consultant at the Delaware Division of Libraries.

In my spare time, I run the Cairn Rescue League. I fell in love with cairn terriers (Toto in the Wizard of Oz) in 1983, and in 1999, I adopted Buck, a 17-year-old cairn who was considered to be too old for rescue. That didn't sit well with me, so I started the Cairn Rescue League in Buck's honor - http://www.cairnrescueleague.com/remembrances.html. As long as we have the resources, we'll take a cairn no matter how old or whatever special needs it might have. Can't wait to retire so I can do rescue full time!
